Welcome to ETW17
The 17th European Workshop on Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology of the Testis (European Testis Workshop; ETW) will be held on April 20-24, 2012, in Djurönäset Conference Centre in the beautiful archipelago of Stockholm http://www.djuronaset.com (GPS position lat. 59, 2985 long 18,6740). The location is almost out to the open sea, as far as you can go by car, 45 km from Stockholm city centre and 82 km from Stockholm Arlanda International Airport. It offers excellent facilities for the scheduled congress activities as well as beautiful nature scenery for creative thinking and communication.
The aim of the 17th ETW is to provide an update on recent discoveries and novel trends in testis biology and pathophysiology research covering all aspects of male germ and somatic cells and their regulation by genetic and epigenetic mechanisms. Research presentations with novel data from human and animal models systems employing molecular, cell and, tissue, and systems biology approaches are welcome. Developments in translational research on the testis exploiting the rapidly increasing evidence base in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine are especially invited.
The structure of the meeting will be according to the successful outline employed in the previous ETWs. Distinguished invited scientists will deliver plenary and symposia lectures and short communications will be selected from the submitted contributions. All submissions are to be delivered as miniposters. Interesting novel trends will be identifiied from the miniposters and arranged into thematic minisymposia. The hallmark of the ETWs to present and discuss all miniposters in oral session will be maintained and young investigators will be encouraged to give these presentations. The miniposter book will be distributed as a pdf for downloading before the meeting and provided as hard copy at the meeting site.
